How to reset user passwords
Learn the different ways to reset Fireberry passwords for yourself or other users, and strengthen the security of your system.
Preliminary steps
You can reset user passwords directly from each user’s primary email to make sure your data stays secure. To activate this process, you’ll need to use one of the three methods detailed below to send a user the Password reset email. First, be sure the email will be sent to the correct email address, which you can check in the relevant user’s profile.
Reset your own password
To reset your own password, first click on your profile picture and then select the green Profile button. From the tabs on the left, select the Account Security setting, which will open the Passwords section. Now click on the Reset Password button. In the popup that opens, click Ok to send a Password reset email to your primary email address. A green popup will appear at the bottom right of the screen confirming the email has been sent. Then follow the instructions below to reset your password.
Reset any user’s password
You can choose to send another user a Password reset email, which they can then use to reset their password. To start, select the settings gear, which will automatically open the System tab and the Users section. Here you can click on the row with the user whose password you’d like to reset to open their page.
Next click the three dot menu on the top right and select the Reset Password option. This will open a popup where you’ll need to press Ok. A green popup will display on the bottom of the screen confirming the Password Reset email was sent to the primary email of this user, which they can now use to reset their password as is explained below.
Forgot your password
If you forgot your password, you can easily reset it through the login page. First open the login page, which you can find here. Next click on the Forgot Password option in gray under the Login button.
This will bring you to the Forgot your password? page. Here under the Login Email section you can type in the email address you use to log into the system. Next click Send to send the Password reset email to your primary email address, which you can learn about here. This will not necessarily be the same email address as your login. A page will open confirming the email was sent. You can then follow the instructions below to reset your password.
Using the password reset email
After following one of the three methods listed above, you or the selected user should receive the Password reset email. Click on the Password reset button in the email to open the Reset your password page.
The requirements for your new password will be displayed with gray checks next to them. These are based on the requirements set in your security settings, which you can learn about here. Start typing your password into the New password section. As you type, the check next to each requirement will fill in in green if it is met and red if it is not met, so that you can easily make sure you’re meeting all the requirements. After choosing your new password, type the exact same password into the Retype new password section. Click the eye icon to display the passwords, or click it again to keep them confidential by displaying them as dots.
Once you’re done, click the next button. If you haven’t met all the requirements or your two passwords don’t match, you’ll receive an error and need to type in new passwords. If you have, your password will be updated and you’ll be brought to the Password updated successfully! page. You can now go back to the login page and use your new password to log in.
